| In 1973, the flagline for the Goin' Band
from Raiderland was created, under the direction
of Dean Killion. It was initially composed
of the marching band alternates; there was
no formal audition to be a member of the
flagline. The line consisted of both men
and women. The flag uniforms were the same
as the band uniforms. Keith Bearden became the new director of the Goin' Band in the early 1980's. He required auditions for the flagline, and raised the standards for routines and marching. New uniforms and flags were purchased. This new style of flagline has eventually grown into the line as we know today. |
